Mr. Ibrahim bin Sultan al-Hashemi, Director of the Information and Communication Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed the State of Qatar’s condemnation of burning a copy of the Holy Qur’an in Denmark, warning that allowing repeated infringement of the Holy Qur’an under the pretext of freedom of expression fuels hatred and violence, threatens the values of peaceful coexistence, and reveals abhorrent double standards. He also urged the Danish government and Western governments to take the necessary measures to combat the discourse of Islamophobia and deter perpetrators of religious hate crimes, and to benefit from historical and contemporary international models in the field of tolerance and coexistence, outside the framework of Western centralism.
In the weekly media briefing organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he asked about the purpose of the value if it does not elevate people and nations to broader horizons than narrow hatred and intolerance, and whether the value becomes valuable if it deviates from its path and becomes fueling right-wing and left-wing extremism.
The Director of the Information and Communication Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar’s condemnation, in the strongest terms, of dozens of settlers storming the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and their announcement of an agreement with the Israeli occupation police to extend the hours of storming Al-Aqsa Mosque. He warned against introducing any changes to the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem and its sanctities, and held the occupation authorities alone responsible for the cycle of violence that will result from this systematic policy against the rights of the Palestinian people, and urged the international community to take urgent action to stop these measures.
Al-Hashemi emphasized the status of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the hearts of millions of Muslims around the world, as it is the first of the two qiblahs and the third of the Two Holy Mosques, which will not be changed by a thousand storming and storming.
He also stressed the firm position of the State of Qatar on the justice of the Palestinian cause and its standing by the brotherly Palestinian people until they regain all their legitimate rights.
Al-Hashemi referred to the visit of His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the sisterly Lebanese Republic, which ends today.
He explained that during the visit, His Excellency the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held meetings with His Excellency Mr. Najib Mikati, Head of the caretaker government in Lebanon, His Excellency Mr. Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Bouhabib, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Lebanese caretaker government, and His Eminence the Mufti Abdel Latif Derian, Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, and His Beatitude Cardinal Patriarch Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East. Al-Hashemi noted the affirmation of His Excellency the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the meetings with Lebanese officials on the firm position of the State of Qatar in supporting Lebanon and its brotherly people to get out of crises.
