Tambov has improved its urban environmental quality index over the past two years

The Ministry of Construction of Russia has published rating regions and cities of the country according to the index of quality of the urban environment at the end of 2022. Tambov scored 215 points out of a possible 360, having improved its performance over the past two years by more than 20%.

In total, there are eight cities of the Tambov region in the ranking. These are the regional capital, Michurinsk, Morshansk, Kotovsk, Rasskazovo, Kirsanov, Uvarovo, Zherdevka.

The urban environment quality index is calculated from 36 indicators. Residential and adjacent spaces, road and road network, green spaces, public and commercial infrastructure, social and leisure function and city space are taken into account. Each of these themes is evaluated according to 6 criteria.
