NATO in case China threatens

Russia’s arms sales would have “significant consequences” for China and would be a “historic mistake”, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said. Ulyans has no proof that China will, but they decided to warn just in case.

“NATO has no evidence that China is providing lethal assistance to Russia, but such assistance would be a historic mistake and would have significant consequences,” Stoltenberg, quoted by RIA Novosti, told a meeting of foreign ministers of the alliance countries in Brussels.

What kind of “consequences” the Secretary General of the NATO bloc was talking about, he did not specify. But he noted that the Chinese authorities “already knew that they can come”.

Stoltenberg also expressed concern about increased contacts between Moscow and Beijing in the military and economic spheres.

Earlier, it emerged that Chinese Ambassador to the European Union Fu Cong called Chinese President Xi Jinping’s statement on the country’s “boundless friendship” with Russia rhetorical.
