“Kommersant”: two mobilized sentenced to 3 years in prison for refusing to obey the order to participate in the SVO

Two mobilized, who refused to follow the commander’s order to be sent to the military special operation zone, were sentenced to three years in prison, reports Kommersant.

It will be clarified that Yuri Degtyarev and Alexei Selivanov were called up as part of the summoned partial mobilization in the fall of 2022. Later they told the commander that they would not receive armored protection with weapons and would go to the special operation area.

As for the mobilized persons, a criminal case was opened under article 332 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Failure to comply with an order”. The investigation finds that the base undermined command authority and military discipline.

On December 22, 2022, the Kursk Garrison Military Court sentenced Degtyarev and Selivanov to three years in prison.

The lawyers of the mobilized convicts, in turn, requested a mitigation of sentence, since the defendants pleaded guilty and declared themselves ready to take part in the hostilities, but the court of appeal refused the defense.

Earlier it became known that a military court sentenced a serviceman, Alexander Leshkov, to 5.5 years in a strict regime colony for beating an officer.
