Fallen dry grass usually leads to an uncontrolled and rapidly spreading fire, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the recommendations of the main civil protection department of the Moscow region.
As stated in the recommendations, these fires traditionally end in the mass death of animals, birds and sometimes people. Rescuers warn that burning a dry wound is much easier to prevent than to extinguish.
“Last year’s dry grass can easily catch fire and a fire can turn into a natural disaster,” reads the text of the recommendations.
At the same time, as noted in the material, the fall destroys not only last year’s grass, but also young shoots.
The document recommends not burning garbage, not setting dry grass on fire, not leaving fires unattended, and carefully extinguishing cigarette butts and burning matches. It is also recommended to supervise children likely to start such a fire and, in the event of smoke development, to call the fire brigade immediately.
