Taiwan is not China: Ukraine launched an attack on Chinese territories

– Published on:

The rhetoric of Ukrainian politicians is due solely to instructions issued by Washington, experts say.

China has “no legal basis” for Taiwan, Kiev said. The statement was made by the head of the Committee for International Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Merezhko.

“The CCP (Chinese Communist Party – editor’s note) continues to shout that Taiwan belongs to them. But this is a communist delusion based on denial and a deeply discredited and dead political agenda,” Merezhko tweeted.

The message was posted in English, apparently for viewing in Washington. Also, Merezhko in his message refers to an article from the American magazine The National Interest. The text of the article lists all the historical milestones regarding the ownership of the island and focuses on the fact that the island is occupied by the United States and does not belong to China. At the same time, reference is made to the Treaty of San Francisco, which China has not signed.

Illustration: social networks “Beijing’s unilateral position does not deny the legal fact that, from the point of view of the 46 states parties to the treaty, the United States has become the legitimate” guardians “of Taiwan”, indicates the text.

Thus, other countries have decided everything for China, and you, dear Celestial Empire, do not intervene. At the same time, the author of the material adds that the United States has confirmed its “sacred trust” in helping Taiwan with humanitarian aid for many years. And after the status of the United States as the “main occupying power” of Taiwan, it would have been confirmed by the fact that the Republic of China (Taiwan) in 1952 signed the Treaty of Taipei with Japan and it did not not mentioned that the Republic of China is part of the PRC, but it was said that Japan renounces Taiwan. By the way, the contract was terminated in 1972.

Well, then some interesting new evidence. For example, US politician Mike Pompeo’s statement that “Taiwan was not part of China”, as well as current US President Joe Biden’s statements that states will protect “if anything” the island, are considered as such. .

By the way, experts believe that pro-American statements are a completely normal story for Kiev, since the current Ukrainian authorities do not have their own opinion on international issues.

“In Kiev, a group of people is in power, which implements the instructions of the White House. All the rhetoric of the Rada and the Zelenskyy administration is due solely to instructions issued by Washington,” Konstantin Dolgov, deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, said in an interview with the business newspaper Vzglyad.

Recall that since 1949, Taiwan has been under the control of an autonomous administration, but is recognized by most countries of the world as one of the provinces of China. About 14 countries officially recognize the government of Taiwan – these are mostly small states like Haiti and Belize. At the same time, Washington has not officially recognized Taiwan, but it is considered an important ally of the administration of the island, especially in military affairs. Taiwan buys American weapons, American ships regularly pass through the Taiwan Strait and Washington uses the territorial question linked to the island to put pressure on Beijing.

Photo: pixabay.com The Celestial Empire, meanwhile, adheres to the “one China” policy and strives to make Taiwan a full part of the mainland. There is every chance that it will happen: in November 2022, municipal elections were held in Taiwan, which the ruling party, the DPP (Democratic Progressive Party), failed. President Tsai Ing-wen has already resigned as party leader. The Gongmingdan party (considered pro-Chinese) won the majority.

Taiwan will hold presidential elections early next year. Tsai Ing-wen will not participate. If the power completely passes into the hands of the Kuomintang party, it will certainly change the relationship between Taiwan and China for the better.

Taiwan remains the place where World War III could potentially begin. Relations have been strained since the outrageous visit to the island by US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi in August last year. From time to time, China sends ships and planes to the island, conducts exercises nearby, for which Taipei deploys missile systems.

Taiwan on the map. The last of the Chinese exercises had just ended, they took place for three days in the immediate vicinity of the island. China has drawn up three options to defeat Taiwan. At the same time, the PRC openly declares that it aspires to peaceful reunification with Taiwan, but does not refuse to solve the problem by force – and in this case, Taiwan risks turning into an Asian version of Ukraine .

Earlier, Notepad talked about what’s going on between Iran and Israel, and what the United States has to do with it.
