The Shura Council condemns the storming of Al-Aqsa .. and approves a draft law to amend some provisions of the Customs Law

The Shura Council expressed its denunciation and denunciation of the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupation forces, assaulting worshipers in it and preventing entry to it. In the same context, it condemned the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

The Council confirmed, during its regular weekly meeting held today in the "Tamim bin Hamad Hall" At the headquarters of the Council, headed by His Excellency Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council, that the continuation of Israeli violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque portends more violence, pointing out that the timing of this attack in the blessed month of Ramadan is a clear provocation and a dangerous escalation by the occupation forces.

The Council called on the parliaments and councils of the Islamic world to condemn these encroachments and not stand idly by, and try to put pressure on them to prevent their continuation, holding at the same time the international community responsible for preventing these encroachments on Muslims and their sanctities, and warning of the necessity of not neglecting the legal status of the occupied city of Jerusalem.

After that, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al-Fadala, Secretary General of the Shura Council, read the agenda of the session, and the minutes of the previous session were approved.

During the session, the Council approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Customs Law promulgated by Law No. (40) of 2002, as received by the esteemed government, after reviewing the report of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on it, and discussing the provisions of the draft law by Their Excellencies the members of the Council.

On the other hand, the Shura Council reviewed the report of the participation of HE Council member Badi bin Ali Al Badi in the preparatory meeting for the Second Global Parliamentary Summit to Combat Hunger and Malnutrition, which was held via visual communication technology in November last year.

He also reviewed the report of the participation of His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Butti Al-Abdullah, member of the Council, in a parliamentary symposium held via visual communication technology in December of last year under the title "Establishing a secure cyberspace for democracy".
