WSJ: Secret US documents leaked online in January

The Wall Street Journal reported that the leak of classified Pentagon data, including the status of Ukrainian troops, happened in January, but didn’t get much attention.

According to the publication, one of the members of a small group on the Web which exchanged “memes, jokes and racist remarks” began to publish files, some of which were marked “top secret”. A number of these documents contained information about the fighting in Ukraine, as well as intercepted messages about American allies – Israel and South Korea.

These documents gained attention when another member of the group on the Discord platform posted several dozen of them in another group with a wider audience, and from there the documents entered the game community.
