Within the framework of its “Ramadan Impact” campaign, and with the support of the good people in Qatar, Qatar Charity continues to distribute ready-made Iftar meals in northern Syria to orphans and those affected by the earthquake and the most needy camps, as part of the Iftar project, which aims to distribute about 96,000 meals until the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Qatar Charity is focusing on implementing the project on several areas, including those that were badly damaged by the earthquake, such as Jenderes, Atarib and other areas. Meals are distributed on a daily basis, with one meal enough for 3 people, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to about 290,000. This comes in response to the urgent need to provide ready-cooked breakfast meals for the benefit of those affected by the earthquake. It is a positive initiative. Mr. Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, director of Baba Amr camp, which houses earthquake-affected people in the Jenderes area, said: “We thank those in charge of implementing this project, as it was a positive initiative and helped people greatly. In the holy month of Ramadan.” Mr. Walid Hamdan, director of Zamka camp, said: The project has contributed to alleviating the suffering of the displaced people living in the camp, noting that the economic conditions are getting worse, and that most of the camp residents do not have a fixed income. In a related context, Qatar Charity organized an Iftar for orphans and those affected by the earthquake in the city of Atarib, northern Syria, with the aim of alleviating their suffering, as most families in the area still live in tents and have lost most of their properties and businesses.
