October 3, 2025

Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) conducted a test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Tuesday. It was carried out from the Kapustin Yar training ground, located in the Astrakhan region, reports TASS with reference to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry said the purpose of the launch was to test advanced combat equipment of Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles.

“This launch confirmed the accuracy of the schematic design and technical solutions used in the development of new strategic missile systems,” the ministry added.

In March, the Ministry of Defense spoke about the use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles in the special operation zone. Thanks to them, the Russian army managed to strike key elements of the military infrastructure, defense industry and energy of Ukraine.
