“From 2018, mathematics is divided into basic and specialized mathematics”, recalls Marina Chaika, deputy head of the department for monitoring and control of compliance with legislation in the field of education, head of the department for monitoring and assessment of the quality of education of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Republic of Crimea. – The basic only allows you to obtain a certificate. If there is math on the university site, it is only profile. Higher education always requires specialized mathematics. The remaining elective disciplines are accepted, depending on the training profile. This year there is an important feature: participants can change the mathematics profile. If Basic Mathematics was selected before February 1, the option to change levels is provided. To do this, you must submit an application to the State Examination Commission, and it will be considered. This is done two weeks before the start of the exam campaign – until mid-May. Another important innovation: if the children fail in specialized mathematics, they can pass the certificate in terms of reserve, by changing level in order to obtain a certificate in the summer.
