Sudan Doctors Committee: 56 civilians were killed and dozens of soldiers were killed

April 16, 2023

Today, Sunday morning, the Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors revealed a preliminary inventory of the events of April 15, which includes the total number of dead and injured who were counted from hospitals and health facilities.

The committee said that the total civilian deaths amounted to 56, with dozens of military deaths, in addition to 595 injuries, including military casualties, dozens of whom were in critical condition.

The committee noted that some cases of military injuries and deaths were transferred to regular hospitals and others were outside the scope of the committee’s enumeration. It also indicated that there were injuries and deaths among civilians who were unable to reach hospitals and health facilities due to the difficulty of movement and the regular forces’ interception of ambulances and paramedics.

According to the committee’s report, the rates of deaths and injuries were concentrated in 3 main regions more than others, which are Khartoum, Bahri, and Omdurman.
