Szijjarto accused the European Commission of “Hungarian” behavior

April 16, 2023

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó has asked Brussels to put an end to “Hungarian phobic behavior”.

Hungarian Foreign and Economic Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto, speaking on national television, accused the European Commission of “Hungarian phobic behavior”. According to him, this is due to the fact that in Brussels they cannot “digest” the will of the Hungarians in the parliamentary elections.

“It’s time for Brussels to put an end to Hungarian-phobic behavior,” urged Szijjártó. “They suffer from the fact that they cannot interfere in our processes, they cannot influence the decisions of the Hungarian people.”

“The dispute between the EC and Hungary is not about legal facts”, is sure the Hungarian minister. “Otherwise we would have received a list of complaints, studied, reviewed and accepted what we consider to be legal.” “Brussels has problems not with specific cases, but with the Hungarian will in general,” concluded Szijjártó.
