October 3, 2025

The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced its continued support for the Qatar Diabetes Association for the current year, which will benefit (146) children with diabetes, with the support of the Endowment Bank for Health Care.

In this context, Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanim Al Thani, Director General of the General Department of Endowments, stressed, during a press conference, the relationship between the two sides and the compatibility of the services provided by the association with the implementation of the conditions of honorable endowers, and their generous directives to spend the proceeds of their endowments for the benefit of needy patients. He indicated that (21) children will benefit from the insulin pump, while (125) children will benefit from freestyle devices to check the level of glucose in the body.

He pointed to the interest of the people of Islam since the first century AH in the rights of patients and their care, and the historical references testify to the benevolent endeavors of Muslims in establishing hospitals and bimaristans according to their common name at the time, and providing care for patients and considering this as a religious duty, and a social moral that requires those who are able to do it and spend generous amounts of money in its way. Let us witness the construction of dozens of hospitals and the allocation of endowments for them, the proceeds of which will be spent to bring doctors specializing in various branches of medicine and to provide medical services in this way.

The Director General of the General Directorate of Endowments said: The Qatari Endowment initiative consolidates the endowment role through community partnerships and joint cooperation between the General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs through the Endowment Bank for Health Care, with the Qatar Diabetes Association to purchase blood sugar measuring tools and provide them to the needy.

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamaq, Executive Director of the Qatar Diabetes Association, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, appreciated this endowment initiative, pointing to the strengthening of community partnership between the two sides, indicating that the support provided for the current year is a continuation of what the General Administration of Endowments has committed to providing patients with better treatments. This reflected positively on their daily lives, especially the affected children and their adaptation to social and family conditions.
