– Published on:

Qatargas recently delivered a shipment of LNG to the Damra terminal, which is the most recent LNG receiving terminal in India, on board the tanker Milaha Ras Laffan in April 2023. Qatargas sold LNG under the system "Delivery at a point agreed upon by both parties" To the French energy company Total, which in turn handed it over to its 50-50 joint venture with the Adani Group (Adani Total Private Limited). HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, CEO of Qatargas, said that the delivery of this LNG cargo to the Indian Damra terminal is an important achievement for the company and for the LNG industry in the State of Qatar, following up "We are committed to meeting the growing demand for clean energy in India and around the world. Our reliable and safe supply of LNG will help India meet its energy needs and contribute to its economic growth. Qatargas remains committed to achieving sustainability in its business and delivering value to its customers, partners and stakeholders.". added "I would like to thank our valued partner, Total Energy, for its contribution to this successful delivery of this cargo. Our partnership has been instrumental in helping us achieve this milestone, and we look forward to continuing to work together to bring clean and reliable energy to the world". For his part, Mr. Thomas Morris, Senior Vice President, LNG, Total Energies, said: "We are pleased to have completed the first delivery of LNG to the new Damra LNG terminal with a cargo from Qatargas, our longtime strategic partner. This new LNG terminal will contribute to securing India’s energy supply and is in line with Total Energy’s ambition to support India’s energy transition and its goal of increasing the share of natural gas to 15 percent of the energy mix by 2030.". The Damra station is the seat of the seventh LNG station operating in India, and it is the second station of its kind on the east coast of the country. It is the first LNG import terminal of Adani Total Private Limited, with a production capacity of five million tons per annum, and is expected to boost gas utilization on India’s east coast. When the station is fully operational, it will provide a company "He condemned me" And"Total Energies" gasification services to their Indian customers in connection with the transportation, marketing and refining of gas. It is worth noting that the station includes two tanks, each with a capacity of 170,000 cubic meters, and the station’s berth is capable of handling LNG carriers with a tonnage ranging from 70,000 to 265,000 cubic meters. The terminal also offers cargo break-down services, allowing LNG to be reloaded into smaller tankers for distribution elsewhere, and the terminal also includes an LNG truck loading facility.
