A citizen of Belgorod can sit for three years for beating his friend’s father

A resident of the Belgorod region is suspected of causing moderate harm to the health of a friend’s father. He faces up to three years in prison, the press service of the regional interior ministry reported.

According to preliminary information, the victim drank alcohol with his wife. During the communication between the couple, there was a conflict, after which the wife complained to her son about her husband’s behavior. Wanting to intercede for his mother, the young man took the suspect with him and approached the attacker. As a result, a fight ensued, during which the friend of the son knocked down the citizen of Belgorod and repeatedly hit him.

The victim went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a broken rib. A criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“intentional infliction of moderate harm to health”). The penalty under the article is up to three years in prison.
