The Petersburg Dialogue’s board of directors voted to dissolve the project created by Putin and Schroeder

Following a vote at the general assembly held by the board of directors of the Petersburg Dialogue, it was decided to disband the project. The St. Petersburg Dialogue was established in 2001 on the initiative of Vladimir Putin and Gerhard Schroeder as a platform for establishing relations between Russia and Germany in the fields of politics, business and civil society. It was funded by the governments and business communities of both countries.

According to the report of the project, the dissolution of the “Petersburg Dialogue” is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the law. 32 members of the council voted “for” the dissolution of the project, 5 people opposed and one abstained.

The forum of representatives of the two countries has been held every year since April 2001, except for 2014, when it was canceled due to the inclusion of Crimea in Russia, and 2020, when it was not did not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
