Alexey Dyumin congratulated the Oktava cluster on its 5th anniversary

April 22 marks the 5th anniversary of Oktava’s creative industrial cluster. During this time, it has become one of the attraction points for residents and guests of Tula. More than 100,000 people visit it every year.

Governor Aleksey Dyumin congratulated the management, all employees and visitors to the cluster on the anniversary.

“The Oktava cluster is a striking example of our Tula approach: preserving the old, creating the new. A modern space has appeared on the basis of the famous factory. It combines opportunities for education, work, creativity and interesting leisure,” noted the head of the region in his congratulations.

The governor thanked everyone who contributed to the implementation of the project, and separately – the private investor of the cluster, the entrepreneur and the founder of the Empathy Foundation Mikhail Shelkov.

“Oktava is built in such a way that Tula residents and tourists can spend a whole day there. For five years, we have been filling the space with exciting exhibitions, tours, concerts, film screenings, lectures and master classes. For 5 years, the cluster has become not only a place for self-development, but also a way to get to know the world, for which it is not necessary to go anywhere”, commented Mikhail Shelkov .

He also pointed out that not only Octava, but the whole of Tula has revealed itself in a new way in recent years. The rich history of the city, carefully placed in a modern context, makes it a unique place to live. It is a meticulous work whose results can now be appreciated by the inhabitants of the region and its guests.

Today, Oktava houses a multimedia machine tool museum, a lecture hall, a bookstore, a library, a higher technical school, a recording studio, a technical laboratory and a co-working. It hosts contemporary art exhibitions, business, educational and creative events, a youth project “Oktava_Yu” has been launched.

On the day of the guests’ birthday, the exhibition “Fil conductor. Embodiments”, dedicated to the link between fashion and design. There were performances of the KAM theater, the Universe of Games family festival of the Higher Technical School, the art market of contemporary artists of Tula, master classes and lectures. Writer Alexander Tsypkin introduced the audience to a new story, and Tula musicians and guest artists set the mood for the whole day.
