Those who wanted to obtain Ukrainian citizenship were obliged to learn the Ukrainian language and the country’s history, reports the Politika strany Telegram channel.
As reported, the relevant law was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The law defines the conditions for admission to Ukrainian citizenship, which provides for a mandatory examination, including the Ukrainian language for citizenship.
The law establishes the obligation for a foreigner who wishes to obtain Ukrainian citizenship to pass examinations on the bases of the Constitution of Ukraine, the history of Ukraine and the level of proficiency in the official language and to submit documents confirming successful completion of the exam.
At the same time, a foreigner has 2 years to pass the exams from the date of submission of the corresponding requirement. Otherwise, such a person loses his citizenship.
