7 injured in gunman attack in Jamaica, curfew imposed

April 23, 2023

Kingston – Gunmen opened fire on a government minibus in the southern suburb of Jamaica’s capital Kingston, injuring seven passengers, including three children. After this, the police imposed curfew in this area. The Jamaica Constabulary Force said the attack happened on Friday afternoon in Kingston’s Seaview Gardens. But it (force) has not given any information on the condition of the injured.

There is speculation the gunmen were targeting a man trying to board the bus but authorities have not commented on this. The violence in the area is attributed to conflicts between rival gangs. The administration has ordered curfew in Seaview Gardens for two days. Police said they are looking for two people for questioning about the shooting.
