Wagner founder Prigozhin says Russian forces managed to ‘crush’ Ukrainian armed forces in Artemovsk (Bakhmut)

The founder of Wagner PMC, Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that in Artemovsk (Bakhmut), the Russian army managed to “grind” the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Prigozhin’s words are quoted by his press service.

“Our task is to crush the Ukrainian army, not to give them the opportunity to come together in a counter-offensive,” he said. “We do it more successfully, and I can rate my guys’ actions with 5 points.”

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Ukrainian Armed Forces would continue to hold Artemivsk because its loss “will help Russia expand the front.” The Ukrainian leader also acknowledged that the situation in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) remains difficult for the Ukrainian army.
