Russian Foreign Ministry declares Moldovan ambassador Lilian Darius persona non grata

Moldovan Ambassador Lilian Darius received a protest note from the Russian Foreign Ministry regarding the expulsion of a Russian diplomat. This was reported on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

The decision of the Russian diplomatic department was a response to the “unmotivated” decision of the Moldovan authorities to expel the Russian ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov from the republic on April 19. An employee of the representative office of Moldova in the Russian Federation must also leave the country.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the closure of entry into the country for some Moldovan officials. However, who exactly was on the list of people banned from entering Russia is not specified.
