Today, the British government announced the evacuation of about three hundred of its citizens in Sudan, in light of the continuing armed clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. British government estimates indicate that there are about 4,000 Britons stranded in Sudan. The Interior Minister Soyla Braverman said in a statement: Britain evacuated between 200 and 300 of its citizens from Sudan, adding that this comes at the beginning of a large-scale evacuation of British nationals. In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: The British nationals arrived on board military transport planes to Cyprus from Sudan, noting that more flights will carry British nationals throughout the day. Yesterday, the British government began evacuating its citizens in Sudan, with the entry into force of the armistice between the two parties to the conflict, which will last for three days.
