Roscosmos chief Borisov says Russia’s new super-heavy rocket will be reusable

October 3, 2025

Director General of the state corporation “Roscosmos” Yuri Borisov said that the new Russian super-heavy rocket will be reusable. According to him, it is a prerequisite for its creation.

Borisov also noted that in general the rocket and space industry needs young talent, because over time it “gets old” and is in a “not so good” state.

The head of the state corporation added that he plans to open innovative projects that will involve young people. According to Borisov, it is planned to open four or five such projects, one of which is related to the creation of a multi-satellite constellation. The head of Roscosmos announced all this during the Knowledge.First educational marathon.

He noted that the Russian side is carrying out research and development projects like Buran. Moreover, Russia, as Borissov noted, will not isolate itself in the field of space research, and some states of Africa, Asia and Europe are ready to cooperate with it on the subject of space.

Earlier, Yuri Borisov informed that Russia continued to work on the ISS (International Space Station) until 2028. He sent corresponding letters to ISS partner countries from the United States, Japan, the European Union and Canada.
