New Delhi. India’s U-17 football team lost 0-2 to Leganes U-18 Club in Madrid in their second warm-up match of the Spain tour.

The India U-17 team is currently on a tour of Spain to prepare for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup to be held in June-July this year. The Indian team had earlier won 4-1 in a warm-up match against Atlético de Madrid U-17 last week.

The Indian team started on a positive note against Leganes and went on the offensive from the start of the game. India had a chance to open the scoring in the fourth minute itself when Shashwat Pawar’s shot on Danny Meitei Laishram’s cross was blocked by the goalkeeper.

The Indian players tried their best to control the game as the match progressed but the Spanish club scored the first goal in the 35th minute on a counter-attack. Priso scored this goal for him. Despite being one goal behind, the Indian team did not lose heart and continued to play aggressively. However, in the second half, the Spanish team adopted an attacking approach which paid off in the 68th minute when Gonzalo scored his second goal.
