Al-Markhiya beat Al-Shamal by three and ensured their survival in the league

Today, Al-Markhiya renewed its victory over Al-Shamal, 3-1, in the match that took place at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium for the twentieth round of the Qatar Football League (QNB Stars League).

Al-Markhiya achieved its second successive victory over its opponent after the postponed match from the ninth round that brought them together last week, raising its score to 24 points, consolidating its seventh position on the ladder of the standings, moving away from the accounts of the late positions, and ensuring its survival in the first division for another season.

On the other hand, Al-Shamal suffered a third loss in a row, to freeze its balance at point 17, and it is threatened with losing its current tenth position, and a retreat to the penultimate position leading to a play-off on the relegation play-off, according to the instructions of the Qatar Football Association. Al-Shamal continued its pressure to adjust the result, and the Iraqi Amjad Atwan almost scored through Majed Muhammad’s pass, but his ball passed next to the post in the 77th minute, while Ali Alwan’s shot passed over the crossbar in the 80th minute, before Idris Fatouhi finished Al-Shamal’s hopes of returning, scoring the goal. The third for Al-Markhiya with a header after a cross by substitute Ali Al-Muhannadi, securing his team’s victory.
