Ineos apply to buy Man United with an offer that exceeds the Qatari offer

April 30, 2023

The British newspaper’s report added that Ineos’ offer is the only one worth more than five billion pounds ($6.29 billion).

A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that Sheikh Jassim, the son of the former Qatari prime minister, made his final offer to take over Manchester United before the deadline expired last Friday.

And the American Glazer family, owners of Manchester United, announced in November that they were studying several options for the 20-time English champion, including the injection of new investment or a possible sale of the club after 17 years of acquisition.

British billionaire Ratcliffe, a longtime United fan, has expressed his desire to buy the English club.

Ineos has various sports investments, as it is a major partner of the Mercedes team, eight times world champion in the Formula 1 world championship, and also owns the Ineos cycling team, in addition to a partnership with New Zealand Rugby Union. In 2019, the company also acquired French club Nice.
