In Aswan.. An educational association welcomes those fleeing the fighting in Sudan

The association was created 3 years ago to provide educational services from primary to secondary for the children of the Sudanese community of Aswan, and with the outbreak of fighting in their country on April 15, it transformed into a center that welcomes “temporarily” displaced persons, free of charge.

Nizar Bayram, one of the founders and directors of the educational association, told Sky News Arabia that it was established under the auspices of the Sudanese Consulate to serve the community wishing to study Sudanese curricula.It consists of two buildings , one of which has 8 apartments, and the other consists of two floors and has 8 bedrooms.

In the first year, 57 students enrolled, bringing the current number to 700, on the condition that they go to Egyptian universities that offer facilities and benefits to Sudanese students.

48 hours stay

The idea of ​​accommodation was made in coordination between the management of the association and the parents who agreed to accommodate the Sudanese inside its buildings, and currently it is equipped with beds and what is necessary for the residency, explains its general manager, Alaeddin Abdel Rahman.

Sudanese are given free accommodation for two days, until alternative accommodation is arranged for them.

One of the initiative’s volunteers, Minas Abdel-Wahhab, tells Sky News Arabia that she participated among 4 people to provide support to those coming from Sudan, and there are other initiatives that provide support to people stranded at the border crossing between Egypt and Sudan, or to reassure the conditions of those in Aswan. .

Amin Al-Sayed, a resident of Aswan governorate, calls on international and human rights organizations to provide support to Sudanese families in the association, such as air conditioners, due to the high temperature .
