How drones evaded air defense systems to the Kremlin and whether Moscow is covered

On the night of May 3, a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the Kremlin, flying over the Spasskaya tower and exploding. Dmitry Drozdenko, an expert and editor of the Arsenal of the Fatherland Internet portal, told Tsargrad why the Moscow air defense system did not stop the drone.

According to him, these drones have become an unexpected weapon for everyone, and it is only a matter of time before similar weapons are used in Russia. He also noted that from the Ukrainian drone, only a glider, the rest is Western, mostly American, including explosives on board.

The problem is that the ideal air defense does not exist. While Drozdenko says Russia’s air defense system is the best on the planet, it’s impossible to cover all targets, especially those as small as drones.

  • Moscow is covered with more serious targets, these are cruise missiles, these are ballistic missiles. That is, air defense missile defense. It interacts weakly with such small targets,” Drozdenko explained.

He also stressed that this is not just a problem for Russia, but a global problem related to the emergence of a new class of weapons. Furthermore, he noted that the full power of Western intelligence was working behind the terrorist attack.

The attack of two drones on the Kremlin could have been prepared directly in Moscow. Alexey Leonkov, editor of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, shared his opinion.
