Srinagar. Security forces killed two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday morning.
Police said this was the second encounter in Kashmir in less than 24 hours. A security official said that a cordon and search operation was launched after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Vanigaam Kreeri area of Baramulla. He said as soon as the security forces cordoned off the suspected spot, the terrorists hiding there opened fire on them. Started driving. Two terrorists were killed in retaliatory action by the security forces.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, said that the slain terrorists were identified as Shakir Majid Nazar and Hanan Ahmad Seh of Shopian district, both linked to terrorist outfit Lashkar. He said both the terrorists had joined Lashkar in March 2023. Police said incriminating material, arms and ammunition including an AK 47 rifle and a pistol were recovered from the spot.
It is noteworthy that on Wednesday, two unidentified terrorists were killed by security forces in Kupwara district of North Kashmir, foiling an infiltration attempt.
