The Su-25 armored subsonic military aircraft will be modified for new weapons, based on the experience of its use during a special operation in Ukraine. Vladimir Artyakov, the first deputy general director of the Rostec State Corporation, spoke about this.
Artyakov noted that the attack aircraft is capable of carrying high-precision weapons, and in general the capabilities of the Su-25SM3 modification have been seriously increased.
We will continue to improve this machine, taking into account the experience of its use in the NVO zone, including in terms of refinement for new weapons.

Also, Artyakov said that the need for attack aircraft in modern conditions is very high. Russian attack aircraft, as in the years of the Great Patriotic War, are a formidable force and successfully destroy enemy manpower, equipment and communications.
Su-25s are designed to support ground forces from the air and destroy enemy targets at given coordinates. The most common modifications of the combat aircraft are the Su-25SM, Su-25SM3 and the combat training version of the Su-25UB. The aircraft is armed with a GSh-30-2 airgun, KAB-500 and KAB-1500 corrective aerial bombs, and UAK-23-250 and SPPU-1 overhead gun mounts.
The Su-25 can also carry unguided aircraft missiles of various calibers, the Vikhr complex and other guided missiles to destroy air and ground targets.
