The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the offensive actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Soledar

The Russian Defense Ministry said that on May 11, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out offensive operations in the direction of Soledar along the entire line of contact, a total of 26 attacks were carried out. On this subject reported in the telegram channel of the military department.

According to the ministry, all attacks by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled and no breakthrough in the defense of Russian troops was allowed.

The length of the contact line towards Soledar is 95 km. More than 1,000 servicemen and up to 40 tanks were involved in the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks, the Defense Ministry notes.

The report also indicates that in the western part of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut), Russian assault detachments continued to fight to capture city blocks.

“The airborne forces support them and stop the attempts of the Ukrainian armed forces to counterattack on the flanks. Over the past 24 hours, nine sorties have been made by aircraft near the city of Artemovsk (Bakhmut). The group’s artillery carried out 64 firing missions,” the Ministry of Defense reported.

On the evening of May 11, Russian military correspondents began writing in their telegram channels about a possible counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In particular, VGTRK journalist Evgeny Poddubny said that the Ukrainians had broken through in the Soledar region and were trying to surround Russian troops in the direction of Bakhmut. Semyon Pegov wrote that the Ukrainian armed forces attack near Mayorsk in the direction of Gorlovka and have “local successes”. The Defense Ministry said the overall situation in the area of ​​the military operation is under control and reports of “defence breakthroughs” are not true.
