Israeli channel: No progress in Egyptian mediation efforts

The source said, “Talks between the parties are continuing in Cairo, despite the lack of any progress.”

He added: “The Jihad movement insists that Israel commit to ending the policy of assassinations and that the ceasefire be reciprocal and simultaneous.

He continued: “On the other hand, Israel confirms that the ceasefire will not include a commitment to stop the fighting.”

“Kan” concluded by saying that “at present, each party adheres to its position, and there is no breakthrough.”

On Friday evening, Israeli sources revealed that Egypt had submitted a new proposal for a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.

The sources said the Egyptian proposal includes a mutual cessation of attacks and a commitment to avoid harming civilians.

She explained that the proposal is currently being studied by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.

Cairo has recently sought through mediation efforts to end the mutual bombardment.
