Russian doctors dispelled 3 myths about food, water and walking for Russian citizens

Russian doctors have questioned the myths about popular human habits regarding food, water and walking.

Almost every one of us has heard that a person needs to walk at least 10,000 steps daily, but who said that this is true? According to WHO, to maintain their health, a person needs to engage in aerobics for at least 150-300 minutes a week, as well as from 75 to 150 minutes of intense exercise. Experts did not say a word about the figure of 10,000 steps.

“Most likely, it was bred for a publicity stunt, therefore it is not scientifically substantiated in any way. Walking,” said Olga Frolova, a therapist at the SberHealth online medical service.

In addition, many people are of the opinion that every morning you should start with a glass of smoothie or freshly squeezed juice. Doctors agree that this is useful, but it will be even more useful to eat vegetables and fruits whole.

“The ideal option is instead of dessert between meals. This way you will get the maximum benefit: get the necessary amount of fiber and vitamins, plus protect yourself from harmful and high-calorie snacks, ”says Faina Lobzhanidze, doctor at the Stavropol Regional Clinical Hospital, medical adviser to the Eurasian Association of Therapists.

And finally, there are a large number of people in the world who are convinced that you need to drink plenty of water every day. According to doctors, this is not entirely true, and a healthy person should use a simple formula – 30 ml per kilogram of body weight.

“At the same time, there is no strict norm here: sometimes the drinking regimen is limited due to the state of health. At the same time, those who go in for sports need more water than people without physical activity,” said Linar Yarullov, senior general practitioner, therapist of the SberHealth online service.

He also added that an excess of water can be harmful to the human body. The patient may decrease the concentration of sodium in the blood, as well as appear false anemia, the newspaper writes. “News” .
