Germany refuses to participate in the London coalition that supports Ukraine militarily

Agencies – Capitals:

Ukraine declared a comprehensive air alert in several regions of the country. The Russian Defense Ministry said that its missiles destroyed Western weapons and equipment, including Patriot air defense systems, as it bombed it with a hypersonic “Kinjal” missile in the capital, Kiev.

The Russian “Novosti” agency quoted an unidentified source as saying that the Patriot system, which was destroyed in Kiev by MiG-31K aircraft carrying “Kinjal” missiles, was the result of a “tight air ambush.” The source said that the speed characteristics of the “Kinjal” missiles allow them to “hit military targets within minutes, which is the reason that targets such as the Patriot system do not have time to change their location after launching new missiles or loading them with new ammunition.”

For his part, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that his country does not have military equipment and capabilities to participate in the London Alliance to supply Ukraine with fighters. Yesterday, Wednesday, during a joint press conference with his British counterpart Ben Wallace in Berlin, Pistorius said, “We cannot play an active role in such an alliance, because we do not have training opportunities, competencies, or aircraft.”

London intends to build an “international coalition” to help Ukraine acquire US-made F-16 fighter jets, according to a statement issued by the British Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday after a meeting between Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte.
