Kuwait’s annual inflation rate slowed in April from this rate

Core inflation – inflation that excludes food and drink prices – rose 2.92% in April on an annual basis.

On a monthly basis, inflation slowed markedly to 0.16% in April, from 0.7% in March.

The Central Bureau of Statistics said the index for the food and beverage group rose in April by 7.68% year-on-year.

The administration said the clothing index rose 6.32% and the housing services group rose 2.55%.

He said the health group price index rose 2.54 percent, while transportation group prices rose 3.07 percent in April on a year-on-year basis.

The restaurants and hotels group saw a year-over-year increase in April of 3.49%, and the miscellaneous goods and services group prices rose 3.85%.

The annual inflation rate in Kuwait recorded around 4% during the period from January to December 2022, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
