Cairo: Four people were killed and 11 others were injured when a three-storey residential building collapsed in Egypt’s southern province of Qena. This incident happened on Saturday. Kena’s security director Ihab Taha said three adults and an infant were killed in the building collapse in al-Taramsa village. Firefighters and ambulances rushed to the collapsed building to rescue the injured, the official said. On the other hand, the prosecution ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident.
Meanwhile, Qena’s assistant secretary-general Mohammad Abu Kreisha said state-of-the-art machines were used to clear the debris and the affected areas have been cordoned off. Mohammed al-Deeb, director general of the Kena General Hospital, said most of the injured had scratches, while two people had fractures.
