Legendary American singer Tina Turner has died. Her publicist posted the corresponding post on social media: “Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who left us the greatest thing: her music. Our hearts are with his family. Tina, you will be greatly missed.” The singer died after a long illness at her home in the Swiss Küsnacht near Zurich.

Turner was born in 1939 as Anna May Bullock in Tennessee, United States. She first rose to fame in the 1950s, performing in the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. After the end of a rocky marriage with Ike Turner, she managed to return to the stage and release her greatest hits, such as “What’s Love Got To Do With it”, “Private Dancer” and “The Best”. She has received 12 Grammy awards throughout her career.
His 1988 show in Rio de Janeiro set a solo concert record. It was visited by 180,000 people. In 1993, Tina’s life was adapted for the big screen as the biopic What Love Can Do. Angela Bassett played the lead role.
