The army began to pressure the family of the main abductor in the Sharawna district, near the town of Baalbek, in northeastern Lebanon, to hand him over. Following the raids, 4 of those involved in the kidnapping were arrested, while others fled. deep in Syrian territory.

The army is currently looking for other people involved, including a person who opened fire on an army center, after attacking a Captagon storage center in the aforementioned Al-Sharawneh neighborhood, and he is one of the people involved in the kidnapping, in addition to the people suspected of having facilitated the operation of the kidnappers.

Forensic affairs analyst, journalist Youssef Diab, told Sky News Arabia: “A group of people wearing military uniforms were watching Al-Mutairi while he was in a restaurant in the Biel area (the front of sea ​​of ​​Beirut).”

Diab added, “Four of the seven accused in the kidnapping have been arrested by Army Intelligence, according to preliminary investigations, and the search continues for the remaining gang members.”

And he continued: “All the data confirms the association of the so-called Musa Jaafar, who carried out the kidnapping, with the so-called ‘Abu Silah’, the drug trafficker who fled justice and the army. Lebanese.

He explained: “It seems they are all working for the same purpose, which is to raise money and sell drugs.”

He concluded: “The four people who were arrested will be transferred to the military tribunal as soon as possible, because the incident happened with the Lebanese army.”

Lebanese army patrols are still searching for others involved in the operation, including a person who opened fire on an army post, as well as people suspected of having helped the kidnappers to carry out the operation.


Who is Musa Jaafar? Musa Ali Wajih Jaafar, from the town of Al-Dar Al-Wasih on the border with Syria in eastern Lebanon, was born in 1988. He was the head of the group that carried out the kidnapping of the citizen Saudi, Mashari Al-Mutairi. It is expected that Jaafar is now in Syria, while the group that helped him will remain in Lebanon. Jaafar is wanted with dozens of arrest warrants for kidnapping, drug trafficking, robbery and shooting.
