Prior to the visit, Iraqi Trade Minister Atheer Al-Ghurairy discussed with Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat preparations for the second session of the Egyptian-Iraqi joint committee in Cairo during the period from 10 to June 13.
The committee began with expert meetings to discuss at the technical level, before the two ministers chaired the preparatory meetings at the ministerial level, with a view to convening the joint senior committee headed by the Egyptian and Iraqi prime ministers.
In turn, the Iraqi Ministry of Commerce revealed the conclusion of 10 agreements between Cairo and Baghdad, which are to be signed by the prime ministers of the two countries during the Sudanese visit, including the fields of sports and youth, housing, construction, labor and social. business.
Iraqi media had reported that Al-Sudani would invite Egyptian companies to participate in Iraq’s reconstruction campaign.

For his part, the director of the Al-Amsar Center for Strategic Studies and Iraqi political analyst, Raed Al-Azzawi, said in statements to “Sky News Arabia Economy”, that Al-Sudani’s visit comes in an important moment in which he seeks to strengthen Iraqi-Egyptian relations, given the size and important role of Egypt at the regional level.
Al-Azzawi identified the most important files on the agenda of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s visit to Cairo, in a number of points, saying:
Al-Sudani believes that it is necessary to deepen economic and trade relations with Egypt, while striving to increase the rate of commercial exchange between the two countries and ensure effective participation of companies and Egyptian specialists in construction projects. . Iraqis expect a lot from Egypt, given the capabilities and capacities that the Egyptian government has and the opportunity to participate in projects related to electricity, health, infrastructure and industry. This is why Al-Sudani is leading a large delegation that includes many Iraqi businessmen and businessmen. The Iraqi Prime Minister has defined since taking office last October that his government’s objective is “services”, and that is why he is working intensively on it.

Commenting on some reports that linked Al-Sudani’s visit to Egypt with the attempt to bridge the gap between Egypt and Iran, Raed Al-Azzawi said that Egyptian-Iranian relations are a sovereign decision that concerns only Cairo, but Iraq is interested in the proper functioning of Egypt. relations with all the countries surrounding Iraq, and that is normal.
