London. In Ashes 2023, Australia has scored 311 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in their first innings till the end of the second day’s play. In response to England’s score of 393/8 (innings declared), Usman Khawaja fought back from Australia by scoring a brilliant century. The English team is currently behind by 82 runs till the announcement of stumps. Alex Carey (52 *) remains with Khawaja (126 *) at the crease.

The Australian cricket team got its first blow today on a score of 29 runs. Opener David Warner was dismissed after scoring just 9 runs. Marnus Labushen also returned to the pavilion on the very next ball. Stuart Broad spoiled the start of the opposition team by taking wickets in 2 consecutive balls. The next batsman Steve Smith became the victim of Ben Stokes by scoring 16 runs. Australia lost their 3 wickets for 67 runs.

Broad dismissed Warner for the 15th time in Test cricket today. He is the bowler who dismissed this Australian player the most times in Test matches. The Australian opener, on the other hand, has scored 397 runs against the English legend at an average of 26.46. Meanwhile, he has faced 734 balls. Playing in England, now Broad has got Warner’s wicket for the 9th time.

Travis Head continued his fine form, scoring a century in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. He scored the 14th half-century of his Test career and shared an 81-run partnership for the 5th wicket with Khawaja.

Head, who was batting well, scored an innings of 50 runs in 63 balls and was dismissed for a team score of 148 runs. He hit 8 fours and 1 six in his half-century innings.

Khawaja continued his struggle in front of the England bowlers. He completed the 15th century of his Test career in 199 balls. Together with Carey, he shared an unbroken 91-run partnership for the sixth wicket to take the team’s score past 300 runs. Earlier, he also shared a 72-run partnership with Cameron Green.

Young all-rounder Green was dismissed after scoring 38 runs. Stuart Broad bowled brilliantly from England. He got the wickets of Warner and Labushen. Moin Ali, who returned to Test cricket after almost two years, also had two successes in his account. He took the wickets of Head and Green.
