BELGRADE — ELLE Serbia’s latest Gen Z fashion edit puts military-inspired jackets alongside soft scarves and relaxed boots, offering a fall wardrobe assembled from contrasting pieces rather than a single look.

Its six picks are military-inspired jackets, leather trousers, fur-textured scarves, flannel shirts, camouflage and slouchy boots. The mix moves between structured outerwear, casual shirts, conspicuous prints and softer accessories.

The distinction is between an editorial selection and a demographic finding. This report does not independently establish a generational shift in purchases or rank the six items by sales.

In its autumn trend selection, ELLE Serbia treats generational boundaries as flexible. The relevance for other readers is therefore the combination of clothes, not an age cutoff determining who can wear them.

Military styling and camouflage also describe different things. One concerns a garment’s design vocabulary; the other is a print. They can appear together, but a military-inspired jacket need not depend on camouflage to make its point.

Retail descriptions add a more concrete distinction to the leather-trouser category. Zara‘s Australian website lists pleated trousers described as 100% leather, with a mid-rise waist. That description identifies a material, rather than simply a surface appearance.

The same retailer separately lists wide-leg faux-leather tailored trousers. The shared visual reference does not make the products interchangeable at the level of fabric: one listing specifies leather, while the other explicitly identifies a leather alternative.

Zara’s composition information directs attention to individual product details. The practical reading is item by item, rather than assuming that every garment grouped under a trend uses the same material.

The scarf category makes that point again. On its Canadian website, Zara lists a printed faux-fur triangular scarf, an explicitly labelled alternative within the broader category of furry-looking accessories. The product name supplies information that a general trend label does not.

Those listings are examples, not evidence that one retailer or fabric represents a generation. Availability, an editorial recommendation and a purchase are different kinds of information. Only the first two are illustrated here.

For readers following fashion, the edit can be read as a set of contrasts: structure against softness, a statement print against a quieter supporting piece, or a familiar shirt alongside a different trouser shape. It is not necessary to treat the six categories as one compulsory outfit.

The material distinction remains even when two pieces serve a similar styling role. In the Australian catalogue examples, one description says 100% leather; the other says faux leather.
