Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Trump accuses China of spreading COVID-19 again and calls on UN to hold Beijing accountable

And again accused WHO of being subordinate to Beijing

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday called on the UN to ensure that China and WHO are held accountable for the worldwide spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.

“The Chinese leadership and the World Health Organization, which literally controls China, have lied about no human-to-human transmission,” Trump said on Tuesday.

Trump calls the argument in his favor the fact that “in the very early days of the spread of the virus, China banned internal travel around the country, but at the same time allowed flights from China and infect the whole world.”

“The United Nations must hold China accountable for its actions,” the American president added.

In mid-April, Trump decided to temporarily suspend the U.S. involvement in WHO pending an investigation into the organization’s failed response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
