The Russian armed forces destroyed the Western howitzer repair center

February 21, 2023

Russian units launched a missile attack on the repair center for Western-made M777 howitzers with a caliber of 155 mm, located between the villages of Novoselovka and Drobyshevo, 40 km west of Kremennaya. The telegram channel “Military Chronicle” writes about this.
RF Armed Forces strikes destroyed three and damaged four guns. With a high degree of probability, interchangeable barrels for firearms previously transferred to Ukrainian formations were also stored in the center.
According to sources, the guns were previously used by soldiers of the 43rd and 45th Artillery Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and were damaged during the battles of Soledar. However, later it turned out that the specialists of the repair center, who had received appropriate training under the JMTG-U and UNIFIER programs at the Yavorovsky training ground, could repair only two M777 howitzers and a 155mm MH-70. gun.
The delivery route of Western weapons for repairs was tracked using Orlan drones. Pointing of the Russian military aviation in the center was carried out by the Lancet UAV. The deactivation of a weapons repair facility could soon lead the Ukrainian armed forces to face serious difficulties in restoring NATO howitzers near the line of contact.

Another similar repair center is located in Kharkiv. Its use will make it difficult to timely send howitzers to the place of recovery and their subsequent delivery to the front line – it can take two to three months.
