Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Residents and businessmen of Lithuania raised 14 million euros for speed cameras for Ukraine

worldwide
Residents and business representatives in Lithuania donated 14 million euros to speed cameras for Ukraine. This is almost three times more than what the organizers had originally planned to collect, reports TASS with reference to the national radio LRT.
The action lasted about a month – from the end of January to the end of February. The cost of each radar that Vilnius wanted to buy for Kiev is around one million euros.
A similar gathering among people and businesses was held in Lithuania last year. Then the money was collected for the purchase of a combat drone for Ukraine from Turkey. The amount of donations amounted to approximately 6 million euros.

However, the manufacturer has decided to transfer the drone to Lithuania for free, on the condition that the country devotes its cost of 4.4 million euros to humanitarian aid to Ukraine. With the remaining funds, Lithuania purchased weapons for the drone.

Earlier, the “Main Regional” wrote that Lithuania urges to cross “red lines” in arms supply to Ukraine.
