The Chamber of Travel and Tourism Companies and Agencies in Egypt responded to the news circulated and attributed to it regarding not allowing travel for holders of personal visas to Saudi Arabia except by reviewing tourism companies, and that the friends’ visa is not among the legally permitted visas, and it is necessary to obtain the Umrah barcode.
The Egyptian Chamber of Today said in a statement that during the last period, some newspapers and websites circulated false press statements about the controls and rules for Egyptians traveling to perform Umrah, and some of them attributed these false statements to sources in the Chamber of Companies and Travel and Tourism Agencies without mentioning the name and function of those sources, and claimed These statements are the existence of new conditions set by the Chamber for the travel of pilgrims. The Chamber stated, according to the Cairo 24 website, that it issues periodic press releases on everything related to the Chamber’s affairs, including with regard to organizing Umrah trips, which are limited only, according to the law, to tourism companies, stressing that it did not issue any press releases and no official in the Chamber made any statements about the existence of New conditions or controls for Umrah trips.
She said that the Chamber is organizing Umrah trips in accordance with the controls set by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in full coordination with the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah, which includes, along with ministry officials, representatives of the Chamber, the Federation of Tourist Chambers and a number of state agencies related to their work on Umrah trips, and months ago those controls were announced as soon as they were issued. It was approved by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and no changes were made to these controls. The Chamber indicated that the controls regulating Umrah trips primarily targeted the interest, comfort and safety of citizens, and guaranteed all their rights with tourism companies and all agencies implementing pilgrims’ services. Which allows performing Umrah through the gate in order to preserve the comfort of the pilgrims and guarantee their rights.
