The RAEX rating agency has updated university ranking in the federal districts of Russia. According to the results of an independent assessment, Smolensk State Medical University in the local ranking of the Central Federal District took 6th place out of 88 represented universities. In the previous edition of the ranking in 2021, SSMU was on the 17th line. There were 18 medical universities among others this time.
This rating is based on the analysis of three indicators: the level of education at the university (weighting – 45%), scientific achievements (weighting – 25%) and the public activities of the university (weighting – 30% ).
The first took into account the quality of education of enrolled students, the staff of the university, the variety of educational programs, the amount of funding, the results of student performance in student competitions.
The scientific indicator involves the number of graduate students, dissertations and scientific developments. Scientific publications and citation indexes.
The public activity indicator considers, among other things, the training of personnel for the region, the share of students targeted, the share of first-year students from other regions and the frequency of mention in the media.
