Omani media monitored the circulation of a video clip showing a cheetah running at great speed in a number of streets in Muscat Governorate, and local media quoted a source in the Environment Agency as saying that the video had not been verified.
In the circulating video, the cheetah runs fast on the Muttrah Corniche, then reappears on Sultan Qaboos Street, specifically in front of the Royal Opera House.

The Omani newspaper, Al-Roya, quoted a source in the Environment Authority as saying that the authenticity of the video had not been verified, adding that work is underway to ensure the authenticity of the matter, and to investigate how this animal was on the streets.
