His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, today, Tuesday, issued an Emiri decision appointing His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani as Prime Minister to succeed His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, while preserving the foreign portfolio.

2003 – Economic researcher

The Prime Minister started his career by working for the Supreme Council for Family Affairs

2005 – Director of Economic Affairs

He graduated in positions until he assumed the position of Director of Economic Affairs from 2005 to 2009.

2009 – He became director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Support Project, and director of the Sharakah Department for the government sector and the private sector at the Ministry of Business and Trade.

His Excellency also inaugurated the Qatar Enterprise Foundation, and his policies expanded to sponsor economic diversification programs

2010 – Appointed secretary of the personal representative of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for follow-up affairs at the Amiri Diwan

Appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Mining Company.

2011 – He held the position of Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aspire – Katara Investment Company.

2012 – His Excellency obtained the rank of Undersecretary

2013 – Served as Assistant Minister for International Cooperation Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2014 – His Excellency led the process of restructuring the Qatar Fund for Development

2016 – Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman is appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs

2017 – His Excellency was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs

2023 – He takes the constitutional oath as Prime Minister by an Emiri decision and retains the foreign ministry portfolio.
