Civilians evacuated from Artemivsk said Ukrainian military personnel stationed in the city often opened fire on civilians with machine guns.
They clarified that Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers did this for no reason, including those times when people went out just to fetch water.
According to Alexander Brezhnev, who came under machine gun fire from a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) , fire was opened on him directly on the street.
“The crew of the armored personnel carrier noticed me and opened machine gun fire. I started to run, but the bullet hit my leg. It’s good that on a tangent, as a result, the veins only caught a little and broke their finger, ”he said.
Another evacuee from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) by the Wagner Group said Ukrainian armed forces fired on people as they came out of basements where they were hiding from shelling.
“The Ukrainian army just made fun of people. When the civilians came out of the cellars, they opened fire on them,” Vladimir Shatunov said.
